MSc (University of Manitoba)
BMSc MSc (University of Dhaka,
Bangladesh)
Having completed his Masters in Immunology at the University of Manitoba, Rashed worked in the lab as a research technician before deciding to pursue his PhD with us. He is investigating the immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 and MR1/MAIT cell-based vaccination strategies for COVID-19.

Nicole Wang
PhD Candidate
BMSc in Microbiology and Immunology (Western University)
Nicole is exploring T cell roles in fibrotic processes and disease models. She completed her undergraduate thesis project in our lab on the significance of cross-talk among innate-like invariant T lymphocytes.

Agetha Mahendran
PhD Candidate
BMSc in Biochemistry of Infection and Immunity (Western University)
Agetha completed her undergraduate degree here at Western University with a research focus on protein structure-function analyses. For her Master’s project, Agetha will apply her background in biochemistry to link physiological stress mediators and immune checkpoint receptor expression by innate lymphocytes. In her free time, Agetha enjoys cooking, hiking and learning new languages.

Angela Schincaglia
PhD Candidate
HBSc in Forensic Biology (Trent University)
Angela completed her undergraduate degree at Trent University where her investigated phytohormones in animal cell lines. Now, she is working to optimize immunotherapeutic protocols for urogenital malignancies. In her spare time, Angela enjoys outdoor activities, playing cards, and drawing!

Valeryia Shydlouskaya
MSc Candidate
HBSc in Data Science, Major in Epidemiology and Biostatistics
Coming from an IT background, Valeryia is eager to combine her data analysis skillset with hands-on experiments in immunology. In her free time, Valeryia enjoys volunteering, reading, going for backpacking trips, and spending time with family and friends.

Claudia Leung
MSc Candidate
BSc in Physiology and Immunology (University of Toronto)
Claudia finished her undergraduate studies in Physiology & Immunology at the University of Toronto. For her Master’s project, Claudia is ecstatic to investigate the long-term effects of bacterial infections on various aspects of immune competence and neurocognitive functions. In her free time, she likes to check off things on her bucket list, watch movies, and learn to cook new things!

Marko Mladenovic
MSc Candidate
BSc in Health Sciences (Wilfrid Laurier University)
Marko completed his undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, with his research focusing on antiviral innate immune responses. For his Master’s project, Marko is studying cytotoxic T lymphocytes in preclinical models of urogenital malignancies. Outside the lab, he loves Formula 1 racing, spending time with friends, photography, and building scale models!
